Moderation in All Things—Even Exercise. It’s a fact: weekend warriors may be shortening their lives. We exercise to look and feel better and because we know it’s good for us. However, research shows that infrequent (only one or two times a week) and excessive (hard) exercise is unhealthy. One should exercise four to five days a week for at least thirty minutes a day. The use of weights can be very beneficial for building bone density and muscle mass, but keep the weight low to moderate; using heavy weights can actually trigger the production of free radicals in the body. |
